Semax after HHS enforcement discretion and LegitScript’s Nov 2026 update
Semax (Semax free base in the policy materials) is one of six peptides under HHS’s October 2026 interim 503A enforcement discretion. LegitScript’s November 2, 2026 update describes how certification review treats covered compounding offerings. Research-use vials on peptide.prof remain a separate channel.
peptide.prof lists Semax as a 10 mg lyophilized research vial with pack pricing on the product page.
What HHS published (October 2026)
On 2026-10-28, HHS filed an interim enforcement-discretion policy concerning six peptide bulk drug substances for qualifying 503A compounders under stated conditions (Federal Register publication schedule noted in the public-inspection notice). Semax is in that appendix set alongside BPC-157, Epitalon, KPV, MOTS-c, Semax, and TB-500.
What this is not: FDA approval; final bulks-list rulemaking by itself; a 503B allowance; or a conversion of research catalogs into compounding pharmacies.
What LegitScript published (November 2, 2026)
LegitScript published guidance explaining the HHS policy for healthcare businesses and stated that its certification review approach was updated effective November 2, 2026 so that offering a covered peptide should not, by itself, block certification when policy conditions and LegitScript standards are met. LegitScript also stresses the peptides are not FDA-approved by virtue of enforcement discretion, and that advertising/payment platforms keep their own rules.
What it means for research buyers
- Compounding under 503A and research-use retail are different channels. peptide.prof sells laboratory research materials only.
- Do not read “enforcement discretion” or a certification-policy update as a human-use claim on a research vial page.
- For live stock and pack prices, use the product page — this store does not invent SKUs or prices missing from inventory.

FAQ
- Does HHS enforcement discretion mean Semax is FDA approved?
- No. Enforcement discretion is not FDA approval of a finished drug, not final 503A bulks-list placement by itself, and not an authorization for research-chemical retail as compounding.
- What did LegitScript change on November 2, 2026?
- LegitScript stated that offering one of the six covered peptides should not, by itself, prevent certification when the offering meets the HHS policy’s conditions and LegitScript’s other standards. That update is about certification review for healthcare businesses — not a change to peptide.prof’s research-use catalog rules.
- Can I buy Semax research vials on peptide.prof?
