What changed in 2026 for FDA/HHS peptide compounding
This page tracks public FDA and HHS actions in 2026 that affect how pharmacies talk about compounding certain peptides. It is written for researchers and buyers who need primary sources — not medical advice. peptide.prof sells laboratory research materials only and does not compound under section 503A or 503B.
RUO vs 503A in one line: A 503A compounded drug is a patient-specific pharmacy product under federal compounding rules. A research-use vial on peptide.prof is laboratory material, labeled not for human or veterinary use. The October 2026 HHS policy does not turn research catalogs into compounding pharmacies.
October 2026 — HHS interim 503A enforcement discretion (six peptides)
On 2026-10-28, HHS filed an interim enforcement-discretion policy (Federal Register publication scheduled 2026-10-30, Docket HHS-OASH-2026-0496). While FDA continues 503A bulks-list rulemaking, HHS states it does not intend to take enforcement action against qualifying 503A state-licensed pharmacies, federal facilities, or licensed physicians that compound using six named peptide bulk drug substances — when the policy’s conditions are met.
Appendix A peptides: BPC-157, Epitalon, KPV, MOTS-c, Semax, and TB-500.
What this is not: FDA approval of those peptides; a final addition to the 503A bulks list; authorization for 503B outsourcing facilities; or authorization for research-chemical retail as compounding.

July 2026 — PCAC recommendations
At the July 23–24, 2026 Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee meeting, PCAC recommended adding BPC-157, KPV, TB-500, MOTS-c, Epitalon, and Semax to the 503A Bulks List and rejected emideltide (DSIP). Committee votes are non-binding; final list placement still requires rulemaking.
Status table (as documented 2026-10-29)
| Peptide | Compounding notes | On peptide.prof? |
|---|---|---|
| BPC-157 | HHS interim 503A discretion; PCAC recommended; not a final bulks-list placement by itself | Yes — research vials |
| TB-500 | Same HHS/PCAC pattern | Yes — research vials |
| Epitalon | Same HHS/PCAC pattern | Page live — Lotus price pending |
| Semax | Same HHS/PCAC pattern | Yes — research vials |
| KPV | Same HHS/PCAC pattern | Yes — research vials |
| MOTS-c | Same HHS/PCAC pattern | Yes — research vials |
| Emideltide (DSIP) | PCAC rejected 503A listing; not in HHS Appendix A | Not listed |
Category list notes (GHK-Cu and Category 2)
FDA’s nominated bulk substances materials still matter for substances outside the six-peptide interim policy. GHK-Cu (except injectable) returned to Category 1 after 2026 clarifications, with PCAC consultation planned before the end of February 2027. Some substances remain Category 2 (significant safety concerns). Parent page: FDA 503A bulks substances. Nominated substances PDF: FDA media/94155.
503B note
The HHS interim policy does not extend its discretion to 503B outsourcing facilities. Separate 2026 FDA actions on 503B bulks (for example proposals about certain GLP-1 substances) are not the same as the six-peptide 503A interim list.

We refresh product pages for named peptides with a short factual line and a link here. Catalog stock and pack prices still follow supplier cover costs and the Lotus live-prices feed. Out-of-stock research vials stay visible when listed, but cannot be added to cart.

FAQ
- What is 503A vs 503B?
- Section 503A generally covers traditional pharmacy compounding for identified patients. Section 503B covers outsourcing facilities with a different set of requirements. The October 2026 HHS interim policy discussed on this page is framed around 503A, not 503B.
- Does enforcement discretion mean FDA approved these peptides?
- No. The HHS interim policy is not FDA approval, not final placement on the 503A bulks list by itself, and not an authorization for research-chemical retail as compounding.
- Does this change research-use-only sales on peptide.prof?
- peptide.prof continues to sell laboratory research materials only. The policy is about compounding pathways for qualifying pharmacies and related actors under its conditions. See product pages for live stock and prices.
- Which six peptides are named?
- BPC-157, Epitalon, KPV, MOTS-c, Semax, and TB-500, per the HHS appendix.
- What happened to emideltide?
- PCAC rejected adding emideltide (DSIP) to the 503A Bulks List in July 2026. It is not in the HHS Appendix A six-peptide set.
Research use only. Not for human or veterinary use. No dose or administration instructions on this site. peptide.prof does not compound under section 503A or 503B.
